No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker player on the globe by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His grandpa showed him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to learn everything he possibly could about the game. He would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the detrimental comments from other people annihilate his goal of being one of the best poker competitors in the world.

He started competing seriously after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a learning opportunity and winning wasn’t a common thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed a number of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to discipline and an eternal passion for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is very abashed about his success. Phil admits to making blunders every single session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Even though Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a normal basis.
