Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to make it to the closing game in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best gamblers in the world. While participating in net poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He frequently plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Gus usually buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits for a decent hand and then goes all in. I know Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has no reason to sit at the table with the min buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is assumed to be one of the best players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amt.. I think television can alter our perception of the real world at times. The greatest players in the world may be guys you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be found gambling on net poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in big stakes omaha hold’em and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash rounds?
