Poker Calculator Announcement: Hold’em Pirate … Hold’em Hawk Banned by Poker Stars

Since the Party Poker failure last fall, Poker Stars has emerged as the undeniable head in sheer numbers of net poker players. They have the largest tournaments, the most lively tables, the largest cash games, and the quickest filling up sit down and go tournaments on the web. With that comes power – the power to choose your associates, internet marketers, and nearer to our point; suitable software.

Long have I been promoting Holdem Hawk and Hold em Pirate (they’re actually the same) poker calculators as simple to use and visibly attractive poker calculators. Recently though, these items have pressed the boundaries of acceptable use, at least in the view of Poker Stars, and therefore have been restricted from use on that site. This is unfortunate news, as a respectable product, not unlike a number of of the suitable computer software permitted by Stars, is now practically grounded because the largest poker internet site on the planet thinks it’s too directly associated to an Operative Poker Calculator.

An Operative Poker Calculator is just like a secret advisor operating for you, gathering and digging through player info that you are able to use against them at a later time. The thing is, you don’t have to be at the table for this to happen. The software (database) is working all of the time for you. For most poker sites, that’s over the line of justness, just as in actual life also.

But Hold em Pirate and Hold em Hawk are actually Empirical Poker Calculators, just the exact same as Hold em Indicator is. These types of poker calculators only acquire facts on your opponents whenever you are at the table, just like you were betting in an actual scenario.

So why the Poker Stars Smack? Here’s an actual warning I received from Poker Stars whilst running Holdem Pirate:

Upon a review of your account, we come across that you’re running an external application identifiedas Poker Sherlock, or its associated software, Poker Edge, PokerBotPro, Hold em Hawk and Holdem Pirate……PokerStars shall be entitled to take such action as it sees fit, such as instantly preventing entry to the Games to such User, terminating such User’s account with PokerStars and confiscating all funds held in the relevant Poker Stars "real cash account".

Hey, did you observe the "confiscating all funds" line? That is what you are able to do whenever you are this big!

The "related applications" is the origin of the issue. The company that designed Hawk and Pirate also make Poker Edge and PokerBotPro, which are data miners. In fact, I think that Stars suspects Hawk and Pirate actually gather data for these associated products, although looking like an Empirical Poker Calculator on the surface.

So therein sits the crux of the dilemma. In case you happen to bet on on Stars and have Hawk or Pirate, you might be out of luck, as I have tried to reverse this judgment. I got a courteous response from the employees at Poker Stars, except definitely, it’s not likely to alter. The excellent news though is that Holdem Indicator has been added to Poker Stars acceptable software checklist, and it is the only empirical calculator to be accepted by them.
