Free poker tournaments are daily events that take place on most of the greatest internet poker sites. Freerolls are much favored by the poker playing community as they provide the poker enthusiasts the ability to win some actual money without losing any. The entry to these freerolls is – like the name suggests – free and jackpot $$$$$ can vary from a couple of dollars for placing to hundreds of dollars for winning the huge freeroll texas hold’em poker tournaments.
So how come the poker rooms have freerolls? Is it because of their extremely generous character and the reality that they earn massive amounts of cash so they feel a moral obligation to give some of it back?

No certainly it is not, the reason that the huge poker websites provide free tournaments is to lure people to their poker site.
Here is the idea boiled down – You hear that a poker room has a great freeroll, it charges you zip to enroll in and you will be able to capture one hundred dollars. You think "Great!" and you go along to the poker site and get registered as a member so you can bet on the freeroll. You compete in and finish early and are ticked off because you feel you should have done better, or you get near the end and so you are wanting even more excitement. What do you do? You bet some $$$$$ at the poker site and participate in a different poker match!
Always check the free tournaments for payout stipulations, you’ll almost always have to participate in some hands for actual cash before they let you take the $$$$ out. Generally this is on a 1 to 1 basis, so if you capture $20 at the freeroll poker tournament you’ll have to have wagered for 20 dollars in actual money in order for you to be able to take out the $$$$$.
