Concentrate on Annie Duke

Mrs. Duke mightn’t have won her 1st World Series of Poker Bracelet until ‘04 but she remains one of the most powerful poker competitors around the cash games at The Bellagio in sin city. Annie’s long-overdue World Series of Poker bracelet came with a win at the "cast aside game" of Omaha hi low.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run wild following a large win at the tables, Annie heads back home and becomes "mom" to her four kids. Annie was born in New Hampshire into a family of card competitors. If you don’t accept that, observe her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who coached her how to bet on the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small change girl and has succeeded at her cut of demanding tables, including eliminating Howard along the way on a couple of occasions. They’re both competitors that have the skill to capture the huge cash and do so with a smile.

Annie Duke is a strong competitor at any table due to the fact that she is a natural poker player, but it is a bit more than just being great at the game. Annie Duke is extremely intelligent and graduated from Columbia University where she double majored in Psychology and English.

When you are seated across from her at the table you will see she is there to play the game and she begins "summing" you up from the time you sit down at the game table. If you cannot compete like a Champion, then do not waste your time.

Acquiring over $3 million in tournament play, Mrs. Duke became a adviser to both UltimateBet.com and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to hone his skills and grow into a force at the poker table.

You might just see her at the Bellagio, you’ll definitely see Annie on TV and you might even compete against her in a web-based poker game, but don’t count on an easy win. Unless you are a camp-in-the-making, you’ll not beat her. However, it would be exciting to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
